Since the creation of the Callaway County Tourism Board in 1991, the vision for a centrally located,  visitor center has existed. Last year, this vision became a reality when the Callaway County Tourism Board broke ground for the center.


The Callaway County Tourism Board, Missouri Fire Fighters Association and the Village of Kingdom City have been working together to provide a site that will host the Fire Fighters Memorial of Missouri and museum , as well as the Heart of Missouri Tourism Center. The site is located at the intersections of US Highway 54 and Interstate 70 in Mid-Missouri.


The construction of the memorial, museum, and visitors center will be completed in a three phase process. Phase one includes the completion of the visitor center. Phase two was the completion of the Fire Fighters Memorial of Missouri, and the final phase is the museum.
